The TZS program supports authentic living. Its goal isn't just to help you center, grow calmer, or become more mindful. Its primary goal is to aid you in the intricate task of making and maintaining meaning in your life. Recognizing that this much is at stake increases the likelihood that you will work the program.

When you want to institute a new habit, a regular routine is the key. Use the incantations every day. If you let even a day slip by without stopping to breathe-and-think the useful, supportive thoughts provided in the TZS program, you make an opening for your practice to collapse. Turn TZS mindfulness into a good habit by using it every day.

You might begin by choosing one of the twelve incantations and really incorporating it into your life. All twelve have value but it can be hard to add twelve new thoughts to your repertoire. You might begin with just one. Go through all twelve and decide which one you'll use as your primary incantation.

Self-consciousness can get in the way of using the incantations. Even if no one else is in the room, you may feel embarrassed or uncomfortable ceremonially stopping to breathe-and-think an incantation. It's important that you overcome this self-consciousness. It would be a shame if embarrassment prevented you from employing a program that can help you live the life you intend to lead.
